For the past 3 years, CELL has been working with local authorities across the country to set up the "Assises du pacte climat 2.0", a national program that organizes exchanges between civil society and local authorities with a view to developing actions for the ecological transition.

The Climate Pact 2.0This is an opportunity to discuss projects already carried out in the commune or region, and to reflect on actions to be developed for the future. And when you consider that 95-98% of a municipality's carbon emissions come from sources other than the municipal administration itself (including its buildings and vehicle fleet), there's every reason to involve local players in local climate action !

Seat Mertert-Wasserbillig

The installation of citizen forums (conferences) of the climate pact to mobilize the community's driving forces. A number of towns and regions have begun to work concretely on the organization of such a meeting - in the evening, on a Saturday, on a weekend, etc. - as part of a larger project.end - with a strong commitment to recreate this public square where necessary citizens and local authorities work together to develop ideas for strengthening local climate action !

In 2024, 11 municipalities organized 7 citizen forums Roeser (open forum on the municipality's climate policy), Mertert-Wasserbillig (the gas station zone after 2024), Uelzechtdall (resilience and adaptation in the Alzette valley), Mondorf (governance), Leudelange (waste), Bertrange (waste) and Grevenmacher (photovoltaics).

Have you ever taken part in a citizens' climate forum in your community? Ask your local council for the date of the next meeting !
